 News::Classic computer update posted
Just posted a batch of Atari ST docs mostly from muguk. Many of them are multiplatform so they have also been added to other categories that apply as well - usually Amiga, some C64, CPC, Spectrum, etc.

 News::Almost 80 new docs
I've been pretty busy at work but finally managed to squeeze in some time for an update. This one is mostly PC stuff with some GBA, PSP, and PS3 docs thrown in for good measure.

I know there are probably a bunch of requests that have been filled, I just haven't gotten up the nerve to scan through the 150 or so new forum posts since I last checked in. Those will be in the next update. I also hope to look into the tests submitted for editor positions soon.

In the meantime, here are some highlights from the update:

Lots of PC Lego games (axeman99)
Lots of GBA Disney Games (Electric Fungus)
Bet On Soldier, Chaos League (Maxx1234)
BloodRayne 1 & 2, World of Warcraft - The Burning Crusade (Emperor52)
Eternal Champions, Lair, Mercenaries 2 (Areala)
Field Commander (HungryWolf3)
Kohan - Immortal Sovereigns (Tatar_Khan)
Puzzle Quest (Kleedrac)
The Riddle of Master Lu (axeman99)
Sins of a Solar Empire (Garrett)
SpellCraft (geezer)

 News::Recruiting rdocs Editors!
It seems that our volume of uploads has significantly increased recently, so I'm looking at possibly bringing a few more people on staff to help with editing submitted manuals and getting them up to our standards of quality. So, if you think you've got what it takes to help the replacementdocs team produce top-quality game manuals, download this quick test.

Instructions and further details are included in the RAR archive. We are requiring this test just to make sure that you have the knowledge necessary to do the job well and to make sure that you are serious about helping out. If you know your way around Acrobat really well the test should only take you a few minutes.

If the right person(s) come along, we may be adding to the staff within the next few weeks.

 News::Game cover artwork detective for hire
I was busy doing some site maintenance and posting docs yesterday, when I ran across the manual for a little shoot-em-up game called Lethal Xcess (Wings of Death II) from the Amiga/Atari ST era. I had never played nor heard of the game before, yet something struck me as oddly familiar about the cover, shown here:

Image: /e107_images/newspost_images/thumb_LethalXcess.jpg

As I stared at it, I reached for what memory that image could have possibly been triggering. Then it finally struck me. Does the image look familiar to anyone else?

 News::New classic computer categories
By request I have added categories for the BBC Micro series, the Mattel Aquarius, the MSX series, and the TRS-80 series.

A quick bit of classic computer trivia for you all: Did you know that the Metal Gear series actually got its start on the MSX computer?

True, it reached a much larger audience on the NES... and many, myself included, were introduced to Metal Gear on the NES, but its first iteration was actually on the MSX.

And now you know.

And knowing is half the battle.

 News::Game Club
For a while now I've had the idea that it might be fun to participate in a "game club" which would operate much like a "book club" in that participants would play through a game together and discuss the game at periodic meetings.

I tossed out the idea over at Intelligent Gamer but figured I would cross-post here. If anybody is interested please head over to IG and let us know.

Hoogovens, the FAQ needs updating as that pending uploads page no longer exists. Instead you can use the search page to search through pending uploads, just change the "Search In:" dropdown box to read "Uploads" first.

Asagoth, with regard to the earlier reported 'access denied' errors Sleepy told me that they might have been due to the web server running out of disk space. He then said that he hoped that he had fixed the problem but just now I have received yet another 'access denied' error. So if Sleepy is right in his diagnosis then there is currently a severe lack of space on the server right now, which would make uploading manuals a problem.

After having uploaded those 4 manuals the error started...i can download and navigate with no problems...its just the upload that don't work... The upload reaches 100 % and them the page stuck for a minute and shows this: message : Internal Server Error

"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request."...

Please contact the server administrator, -email- and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request... strange...

Uploading a manual is working for me. Try it again perhaps?

I see 4 manuals that you uploaded on September 24. I posted Adventures of Batman and Robin because I remember seeing a request for that a while back.
